Detroit, Michigan — The legendary rock group AC/DC will make their first appearance in Detroit in almost ten years as part of their much awaited “Power Up Tour.” On April 30, 2025, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers will perform at Ford Field in an epic show with special guests The Pretty Reckless.

Tour Highlights and Ticket Information:

  • On Sale Date: Tickets for the “Power Up Tour” go live this Friday at noon on AC/DC’s official website.
  • Opening Acts: Fans can look forward to a powerful opening set from The Pretty Reckless, known for hits like “Heaven Knows” and “Death By Rock And Roll.”
  • Tour Schedule: The North American leg kicks off April 10 at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis and concludes May 28 at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland. Other major stops include Dallas, Las Vegas, Foxborough, Pittsburgh, Tampa, Nashville, and Chicago.

Ten years have passed since Detroit’s last AC/DC performance.

AC/DC last played in Detroit in September 2015 as part of their “Rock or Bust World Tour” at Ford Field. When Guns N’ Roses performed at the Palace of Auburn Hills in 2016, frontman Axl Rose took Brian Johnson’s place due to hearing issues. Johnson, who rejoined the band in 2018, is back in full force for this tour with the presence of lead guitarist Angus Young and rhythm guitarist Stevie Young. Bassist Chris Chaney and drummer Matt Laug will take the places of Cliff Williams and Phil Rudd.

AC/DC was founded in 1973 and has sold more than 200 million albums globally. Power Up, their 17th studio album, was released in November 2020 and was nominated for a Grammy in 2022 for Best Rock Album. For several generations of rock fans, hits like “Back in Black” and “Thunderstruck” continue to be anthems.

Next year, Ford Field will host three major events, including the AC/DC performance. Rapper Post Malone just revealed his “Big A– Stadium Tour,” which will make a visit in Detroit on May 18.
