At the 2023 Streamy Awards, which this year honoured the past, present, and future of Internet culture, pop stars Meghan Trainor and the Jonas Brothers were among the winners.
For the first time, singer Trainor of “All About That Bass” was recognized as the Rolling Stone sound of the year winner. Trainor offered a heartfelt acceptance speech as she accepted the prize and mentioned her children, including her new baby.
In acknowledgment of the song’s “unparalleled impact on content creation across social media platforms” and its “resonance within popular culture,” Trainor won for “Made You Look,” according to representatives.
Last year, “Made You Look” peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was the number one song on the Adult Pop Airplay chart. Riley, her son, aided in raising the song’s profile on social media, particularly TikTok, where it had enjoyed considerable popularity during its chart-topping stint. “Made You Look,” which is from Trainor’s album Takin It Back, was released soon after Trainor disclosed to the world that she was expecting a second child.
Kevin, Jon, and Nick Jonas won the crossover category at the Streamys as well.
The night’s performers featured Swedish dance-pop duo Icona Pop, who sang their 2012 punk-channeling blockbuster “I Love It” along with new single “Fall In Love,” and viral hip-hop artist Armani White, who gave a medley of “Billie Eilish” and “Silver Tooth.”
Fanum (breakout streamer, lifestyle), Kai Cenat (streamer of the year, lifestyle), MrBeast (creator of the year, cooperation), and Vivienne Medrano (animated, Streamys creator honour) were among the other winners at the Streamys.
The Streamy Awards, produced by Dick Clark Productions and Tubefilter and held in Los Angeles, honour content producers in the fields of beauty, comedy, food, gaming, music, podcasts, and sports. MatPat, a seven-time winner, served as host.
Penske Media Eldridge, a joint venture between Penske Media Corporation (PMC) and Eldridge, is the owner of DCP. Billboard’s parent company is PMC.
